Zircon as a gemstone has a history of thousands of years. It exists in wide range of colors, the common colors from Myanmar are yellow and brown, while red, orange, blue and purple are the most expensive. Zircon has diamond like refractive properties, which increases the value of white zircon.
Zircon is said to carry balance, spiritual grounding and healing.
Zircon hardness (resistance to scratches) is 7.5 (max 10) while toughness (resistance to chips, breakage etc.) is good, making it a good gemstone to wear in jewelry.
Zircon (blue) is identified as December birthstone in the US (only). A yellow zircon could be considered in as a November birthstone (in place of citrine).
